The U.S. military conducted a lethal strike against a Venezuelan drug vessel operated by a narco-terrorist organization, Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed.

Those charged include eight people who investigators believe are members of the Venezuelan gang Tren De Aragua, U.S. Attorney Peter McNeilly said. He said he considers three of the eight gang members to be “leaders.” Two of the leaders were arrested July 30 in Colombia, court records show.

Experts are condemning the U.S. military strike that killed 11 people on a boat in the Caribbean on Tuesday, saying that the bombing was in violation of international law.
