A lawsuit has been filed against Roblox and Snapchat for the sexual exploitation of a 14-year-old in Arkansas, alleging that the platforms failed to provide adequate safeguards to protect children from predators.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier accuses Roblox of knowingly facilitating a virtual environment that makes it easy for sexual predators to prey on, groom, and abuse children, while marketing the platform in Florida to children as a fun and safe place to play and interact.

The predator allegedly approached the 5-year-old and his brother and mentioned that he was the boy’s friend on Roblox, the complaint said.
