Dec 4, 2015 · A compression test on a Cummins is not easy because the injectors have to be removed. Removing the injectors is a time consuming process. If you have the injectors out already you do have to reassemble the valve rockers and set the lash before you can run the compression test. Why are you swapping the injectors? You mention slight blowby..

Oct 26, 2009 · Using a compression tester, do a normal compression test. Next, add some oil to the cylinder and do another compression test. If the second test reads higher that the first test, there is some blowby going on. The oil acts as a seal around the rings and helps improve compression. Another way to check it is with a leakdown compression tester.
